Dub Jones - Pastor

Paster Dub Jones and his wife, Rene’ received their degrees from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.  They served as youth pastors and missionary evangelists until moving  to Boerne in 1985.  That September, they became pastors of Boerne Assembly of God after the founders of the church, Rev. Fred and Sybil Ball, retired. 

Our Purpose

The purpose of our church is Six-fold:

1)      Worship – As we come together we celebrate the life of God by entering into His courts with praise.  Our praise can take many forms; singing, lifting and clapping of hands, standing in reverence to honor Him, or sitting quietly, waiting in His presence.  When we worship Him, God promises that He will be “enthroned in the promises of  His people.”  (Psalms 22:3)

2)      Instruction – We love God’s Word and we believe in the importance of teaching the truths of scripture.  With thorough instruction, people can be discipled in God’s truth and mature in Godly living and Holy love.

3)      Fellowship – Sharing in times of fun, food and recreation draws us closer together as a church family.

4)      Family Building – Recognizing that a strong family unit builds an even stronger church.  Our aim and desire is to teach those who are the head of the family unit to spiritually lead and instruct their own family.   Likewise we encourage family members to submit to those who are in leadership in the home.  These desires compel us to provide ministries to help and encourage the entire family.

5)      Ministry – We believe every Christian should serve the local “body” of Christ using their gift(s) to contribute to an existing Ministry or to start a New Ministry.

6)      Evangelism – We have a burning passion to reach the lost, with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We believe in giving of our time, talent, and resources in order to supply the tools necessary to “win the lost at any cost!
